The process

Requirements and Documents

  • UAE citizen
  • Accredited university degree in law or Sharia
  • Practical experience of at least five years in judicial work
  • To be free to practice the profession of a private notary public
  • To successfully pass procedures and tests

Terms and Conditions

  • Must be a UAE national
  • Must be medically fit
  • Must be of good character and conduct and must not have been convicted of felony or misdemeanor involving dishonesty or breach of trust
  • Must hold bachelor's degree in law or Sharia and Law form recognized university
  • Must have previously worked for a period of not less than 3 years in specified jobs (Judiciary- Legal practice- Notary public services )
  • Submit a valid insurance policy
  • Must not have previously been removed from the Register of private notaries
  • Successfully complete the training program and pass the required examiniations
  • Practice the profession through a suitable office
